A bit more primitive network of trails, mostly narrow, with lots of climbing. This zone gets heavy with poison oak from Spring thru Summer. Intermediate/Blue trail system up top, connecting to the Round Mountain Trail which plunges into the South Yuba River canyon, turning more Advanced/Black. A bit more remote and rugged, often used by hikers throughout.
